Toto Toilet Bidet Combo Neorest 700H Review

There are toilets and then there’s the Toto Neorest 700h. Touted to be one of the most technologically advanced toilets ever made, the Toto Neorest is the Bugatti Veyron of the wide, crowded world of toilets.

Although a successor, the Toto 750H has already started to hog headlines, the 700H is gentler on the pocket (by almost 50%) and comes with nearly all the features of the 750H that make these toilets worth every penny you spend on them.

So, what is it about the 700H that has people gawking? Let’s find out.

The Toto Neorest 700H is a completely automatic toilet that comes with remote control, multiple sensors, an integrated bidet spray with two modes of cleaning, a deodorizer, and a temperature controllable heated toilet seat.

Whew! Makes it sound like an automatic massage chair. But that’s what separates it from the rest.

It looks stunning. The skirted design, the one-piece construction, and the compact footprint blends into just about any bathroom décor theme.

It is made from vitreous china and comes with a patented ‘CeFiONtec’ coating (ion-barrier surface) that repels bacteria and keeps your bowl clean and disinfected.

Features

Toto MS992CUMFG#01 Neorest 1.0 GPF and 0.8 GPF 700H Dual Flush Toilet, Cotton White

The 700H is an ADA compliant toilet and the bowl height is 20 ¾ inches. If you hated the pins and needles after getting up from a low-height toilet, you’ll love the ergonomic design. It’s perfect for tall and elderly users.

It boasts of an automatic lid-opening mechanism where Infrared and radio sensors detect when someone is approaching the toilet. A nightlight illuminates it, while a gentle spray of water wets the trap way to prevent skid marks.

The seat temperature can be adjusted from 82º F to 97º F. So, even on a bitingly cold night, you will be greeted by a warm, cozy toilet seat.

The deodorizer function is activated when you sit on the bowl and filtered air is passed through the bowl nullifying any olfactory-killing odor.

The toilet can be auto-programmed to flush 5, 10 or 15 seconds after you leave. And the lid will close automatically as well preventing any poop aerosols from escaping into the air.

The Bidet

The Bidet is a feature that most Americans might take a while adjusting to. But Toto makes it a tad easier to love it. You have front and backwashing options that are customizable to the T. Right from the position, the water pressure to the temperature can be tailored to your liking.

The bidet functions can be accessed via the remote. What’s even better is that you can create two user profiles in the in-built memory and store the bidet settings for future use. This way, you get the same consistent wash every time you use the toilet.

Also built-in is a dryer mechanism that’s temperature adjustable from a low of 95ºF to a high of 130ºF, which all but eliminates the need for toilet paper.

The Cyclone Flush

The 700H comes with a gravity-based, double cyclone flushing system. This is a slight add-on to Toto’s original Tornado flushing system which contains two-nozzles with a centrifugal force-based flush.

This one uses only 1 gallon per flush. That might sound surprising to a lot of people who have to flush multiple times to clean their bowls in low-consumption toilets.

Not the 700h. This is as powerful a flush as they come. An in-built sensor auto-detects whether a 1 gallon flush is needed and swaps it with a 0.8 GPF one if needed.

Pros

If enough wasn’t spoken already, then here’s a brief glimpse at the features that make the 700h a must buy.

  • Completely automatic toilet
  • Comes with a remote control to access functions
  • Automatic Bidet with pulsating and oscillating spray modes
  • Position, pressure, and temperature adjustable
  • Heated, auto-opening seat and lid
  • Nightlight for illuminating the bowl
  • Built-in dryer
  • One-piece construction
  • Gravity-based, double cyclone flush that uses just 1. GPF
  • Automatic deodorizer

Cons

  • The automatic lid opening and closing function can be bothersome if you have a small bathroom with other accessories close to the toilet that needs to be accessed frequently. Picture a lid that keeps opening and closing on its own because it senses that someone’s about to use the toilet as you approach the wash basin. Thankfully, this setting can be disabled easily.
  • The lid can be set to close either 25 seconds after you walk away from the toilet or 90 seconds. There are no other customization options. Whereas the automatic flush can be set to 5,10 or 15 seconds only. So, if you are looking to close the lid before you flush, which is what should be the case, then you’d have to do it manually by disabling the auto-close feature.

Both of these are minor niggles. Certainly not deal-breakers.

A lot of people draw comparisons between the 550H, which was one of the most successful automatic toilets from Toto and the 700H. Particularly because the 550H has almost the features of the 700H.

So what do you get for a higher price? The most important difference is the design. The 700H is a universal height toilet that is better suited for family use as compared to the 550H which is a standard height one. Other than that, there’s little difference between the two.

To Sum It Up

A lot of features on the Toto 700H might seem like overkill, especially if you are upgrading from an old, manual toilet. But once you start using them, you realize how easy, convenient and comfortable life becomes. Be it hygiene or ease of use, the TOTO 700h is a clear winner. Go for it!
